The #1 Online Comunity for Airsoft Teams

About two years ago I started into airsoft and being the ignorant kind I was went out and bought a spring, clear, and Walmart grade pistol. As soon as I did my friend bought a automatic MP5 from Cabelas. I did not want to be out done so with my birthday coming up I started to look for guns on the internet. I eventually decided on buying from hobbytron. I saw the most beuatiful gun in my life there, A 500 fps L96 with a scope. NOTE: then I thought these were hard to come by. When I pleaded with my parents they eventually caved and logged onto the site. Once they saw the price tag of $150 they said no. So I looked all over the site until I found a H&K G3/PSG-1 for only twenty dollars. The red flag should have gone up there but I was too excited.

A week later it came in the mail and I was so excited. I opened it up and charged the given amount of time then went into my back yard to try it out. It fired but no bb left the barrel. I was devistated. My parents sent it back twice but still it didn't work. Eventually they gave us a refund and I could keep the rifle. My father vowed to never buy me another gun of the internet again. So, now when I need a gun or parts or even ammo, I must spend an hour in the car with my mom to drive up to Pittsburg. This is getting anoyying so can you please comment on here telling my dad that not all of these sites are bad and are safe to buy from.

Thank you,
SS. Shook

Greetings: I read your post and noticed your bad gun purchase experience: Well not to cause a flame on issue... There are several issues to consider when entering the MIL-SIM airsoft world. 1. Plan your load-out budget; do not go in half ass as you will see that by careful planning you can control your load-out budget. 2. Forget about Wal-Mart type stores....they have no clue and keep this in mind. Some cities and towns may have local laws on replica firearms. Go to the internet. examples are : wwww.laroysairsoft.com www.hotspotairsoft.com www.airsplat.com wwwshortysusa.com also ask airsoft team members where they get guns from. An average good quality AEG will be around $150+ a basic load-out AEG bud's hydration tactical vest will average $300- $500. As you gain experience.....you will want the better gear. So I suggest getting a paper route or a burger job.....this way the parents will stop breaking your balls on price issues.

Quality entry level aeg's are UTG, Echo-1, Jing Gong. For bdu's check out www.unclesams.com or the command post. I could go on and on but I think you get the picture. Do your home work....good luck and welcome to Airsoft.
