Legion Of Anubis South Jordan, Utah, and the new air soft gun law

I was watching the local news the other night, and just what did I see, but another Utah city involved in a law against airsoft. The city of South Jordan, has a new law in place, banning the use of, and sale of replica fire arms within city limits. What does this mean for the Utah airsoft community as a whole? Quite a bit, actually. The new law stems from a incident a few months ago, involving the use of a airsoft gun, during a bank robbery. This law, in my opinion, is just another attempt by… Continue

Trevor Stealth Tips

I have many stealth tips i use for my scouting and i think they could help the average player considerably. 1. i always line the bottom of my ammo containers with packing foam (like whats in the top of a bottle of paintballs) this makes the bbs quieter when in rapid movement and when reloading 2. ALWAYS PLACE YOUR STEPS. it can let you lose some enemies, or let you move silently into position. this is a common tip but always essential 3. Train your vision. Train you eyes to not only notice fi… Continue

Joker Sniper: Ghillie and rifle basics

ok now I'm not a professional, i can only tell you what i have gained from experience. Sniper: as you all well may know the sniper is a force that allows for long range precision shooting to take out key targets or other whatnot's. as well as recon. Now in this state a sniper must be able to remain hidden from the enemy, this is often done by the use of camouflage, called ghillie suits. the ghillie suit originated from Scottish game keepers who would conceal themselves to help cat… Continue

Ahh, the feeling of a Saturday morning...arrival at the meeting place, the ride to the game place, and the excitement in the air. Every one is in full battle rattle, and ready to move out, when all of a sudden....OUCH! some one got stung by a bee, or fell down and sprained their ankle...not fun for the player hurt, and a show stopper at the what was once fun game. So, what can you do to make your games safe and fun? Let me give you a few pointers. Here at the legion, our team has strict policie… Continue

Legion Of Anubis Water and lithium batteries...boom!

It seems that lithium batteries these days are the latest rage. When used properly, you get an increase in time played due to longer battery life, and faster rate of fire. On the down side, you get increased gear box wear, and increased wear and tear on the gears. And in extreme circumstances, you get the gears knocked out of alignment. Another down side to lithium batteries, is the tendency to explode when wet. And the propper disposal problems these batteries present. Care should be taken du… Continue

Legion Of Anubis The State Of Utah Airsoft Pt. II

This is a update to the state of airsoft in Utah. And, in this update, the state has seen major improvment in its major airsoft teams, and A lot of the problems mentioned earlier, have been corrected. All the major teams have shifted their games and events to invite only. And, they have also started to control who joins the teams, and where their games are played at. This is a good thing for airsoft in Utah in general. There had been a huge amount of problems in the past, and now they seem to b… Continue

Legion Of Anubis Night Operations...when the vampire bites

We all like to play airsoft at night. Its fun. Your oppenet cannot see you as well as he/she could in the daytime, you can move under more cover at night, and its cooler in the summer. But, its the simple things we tend to forget, that can make a night airsoft event fun, or have it become a total mess. I am going to give some pointers, my team uses to minimize accidents, and keep night ops fun. Legion Of Anubis Training Airsoft New Players Tactics Gun Safety

I guess my post I wrote last night did not take. But, I am going to expand further(after the ol' brain gets into wake up mode) The very first thing we should teach ALL new players on any team, is where the SAFETY on the airsoft gun is. Sounds silly? No, it does not. You would be surprised at how many players, do not know what a safety is. Even 1 not knowing is too many. Then, I would teach them fields of fire(*not to shoot your buddy on the side, front, and rear). As we all now know, in the he… Continue

Arthur Lowther A&K M249 SAW MKII Field Performance review.

Alright, today we had our skirmish in Casper. An excellent turn out. Great area to skirmish in. I used my M249 All day. The Terrain was extremely wet and lush underbrush thickets and tree's. Slightly hilly with ravines running through the area. First off I highly recommend getting a good fitting sling for your SAW. I made my own and love it. Sits just right and works like a charm. One of the other guys had the MkI and kept commenting on how much he wished he had a Sling on his SAW. Battery li… Continue

Arthur Lowther UTG M3 Tri-Shot shotgun

Well, when UTG announced they where putting a tri-shot shotgun on the market I was intrigued and skeptical. Most shotguns that shoot more then 1 bb at a time seem to always have some sort of issue. Manuel Navarette Setting up a Patrol Base:

You have to take a four-man team through jungle, well beyond your own lines, to check whether a suspected enemy base is operational or not. It's vital to move swiftly, stealthily, and relay your intelligence without being discovered. So why do you go storming out with an entire platoon of 30 men? The answer is that an operation at this range would be all but impossible for four men on their own. They are the key to the mission, but the rest of the platoon is there to create a patrol base - an… Continue

Manuel Navarette Prepare for Battle

Prepare for Battle: Faced with the task of leading a section out through hostile country and taking out an enemy position, what do you do? How should you prepare for the mission? How will you react to enemy fire, or even find the enemy in the first place? How will you mount a successful assault? There are, in fact, six logical steps - "battle drills" - that you are trained to follow on such an operation. In the heat of battle it's not always possible to stick slavishly to the rules, but th… Continue

Manuel Navarette RAIDS AND AMBUSHES

Special forces units operate deep in the heart of enemy-occupied territory, undertaking both active and passive missions. A typical passive operation involves moving into position in the utmost secrecy, setting up a concealed and secure observation post, and then passing information about enemy troop strengths and movements back to HQ. It may be months before the observers can be extracted or even re-supplied, so their training has to make them self-sufficient, allowing them to operate in the m… Continue

Special thanks to USASOC for this great series on nightsofting General: Although it breaks game flow, stop the game prior to last light, and bring your teams in (or bring them to a central team area) and go over the night rules. After the briefing, have players go over their gear to insure it is secure, and they have everything they need. Players should have all their gear attached and very secure; dropping a dark object at night means it is very likely lost. Cheating in n… Continue

Special thanks to Airsplat and Don J. for this informative article on Nightsofting. Playing airsoft at night or under indoor low light conditions can be a great change of pace. Manuel Navarette Fire and movement:

You may be fighting on a broad front, part of an engagement involving several divisions - or you may be on patrol at no more than platoon strength. However large or small the operation, the infantryman's response to events on the battlefield is centred on his section, the most basic fighting unit in any regular army. Bigrik Airsoft FAQ's

What is Airsoft Airsoft is a military simulation sport in which players participate in mock combat with military-style mock weapons and tactics. Airsoft guns usually use 6 mm spherical pellets typically made of solid plastic. Airsoft refers to a class of replica air powered guns that originated from Japan (although the origins go back to the US in the 70s). The power levels are way below those of traditional airguns, but the guns are 1:1 scale copies of original pistols, rather than original de… Continue

Gen. Dalrymple CORIOLIS EFFECT

The Coriolis Effect is an apparent deflection of moving objects from a straight path when they are viewed from a rotating frame of reference. The effect is named after Gaspard-Gustave Coriolis, a French scientist who described it in 1835, though the mathematics appeared in the tidal equations of Pierre-Simon Laplace in 1778 Coriolis showed that, if the ordinary Newtonian laws of motion of bodies are to be used in a rotating frame of reference, an inertial force--acting to the right of the direct… Continue

Gen. Dalrymple WIND AND HUMIDITY FACTORS

For The highly trained Sniper, the effects of weather are the main causes of error in the strike of the bullet. Wind, mirage, light, temperature, and humidity affect the bullet, the Sniper, or both.
