Airsoft, the wrong mentality?

So i'm cruising around the net. reading all my regular Airsoft sites/forums and I'm starting to see a scary trend.

Paintball.. now your saying "Huh?" Let me explain, before I started airsoft I was a huge Milsim Paintballer. I spent mass amount of money and time perfecting my game only to find I never could compete with a guy who had an Autococker, E-trigger and could spray paint down range at over 20 BPS. More and more players of the sport of Paintball where going that route.… Continue

A&K M249 SAW MKII Field Performance review.

Alright, today we had our skirmish in Casper. An excellent turn out. Great area to skirmish in.

I used my M249 All day. The Terrain was extremely wet and lush underbrush thickets and tree's. Slightly hilly with ravines running through the area.

First off I highly recommend getting a good fitting sling for your SAW. I made my own and love it. Sits just right and works like a charm. One of the other guys had the MkI and kept commenting on how much he wished he had a Sling on… Continue

About Me.

Corporal 0311 USMC, Honorable Discharge Twice, 1998 - 2003. Got into Airsoft after playing semi-pro woods scenario paintball with the Maryland KnightStalkers, when I moved to Wyoming, No paintball but the Police Department was utilizing Airsoft as a training tool. I went from there. Hooked almost all my fellow Cadre on Airsoft and we started the Death Dealers as a stress reliever/team building during our down times between class cycles and when ever time allows us to play.

Hay Lex, me and a couple of friends have been playing in northern maryland and were looking for a cool group that won't be such a hike.  Where and when do you all play and would you guys mind if we came out some time?

Thanks for the approval. Will update profile. Plan on joining a team in md. I was in marine rotc in high school and been a security specialist for a couple years now. Blown away by the dedication and teamwork milsim airsoft has. The many members of our military branches retired and active that plays. Thank you.

Lex,

Thanks for the welcome; I'm retired military non-combat had been working on jets my entire career.  I recently found this site and I like what I see and would like to participate.  I recently purchased an UTG type 96 sniper rifle.  At the same time I have upgraded the rifle with the after market spring and piston upgrade to include a 6.01 mm tightbore barrel.  In the near future a full metal triger assembly will be showing up at my house.

I have tried getting in touch with the SoMD team to find out when the next event will be, currently I reside in Calvert county.

200 YARDs is more than my spring sniper that's 450 fps are u sure it wasn't 200 feet because a nice hunting rifle shot is around 250 YARDS and that is using blackpowder so I'm pretty sure u didn't get a 600 feet shot, just saying

Wat upgrades did you have in that A&K SR-25 that you got it to reach out that far because stock they are only about 350FPS and they only reach out to 150 ft???
