There has been a lot of talk throughout our team about hosting our own OP. Once the idea was sparked, the team got together and started to get the ball rolling! After numerous weeks, and lots of contributions of ideas from various team members and cadets, we finally put together SOGs first official home field OP, dubbed "Operation: Saving Graceland". This is a 12-hour on-going operation that will test the intelligence, endurance, communication, and overall gameplay for Team SOG.
Now since this is our first OP, we've decided to keep this at a "team level" basis, meaning that this game is specifically for team SOG, its Cadets, and a select few walk-ons who are regulars at our field. The reason behind this, is because we want to make sure our first OP goes smoothly, so in the future we can host OPs and invite various teams in the area to participate. Remember, this is our first time doing this, so we want to make sure we get it right so next time we host a public OP, we'll have all the kinks worked out! ;)
Basically, the point of this discussion is to show that we are "behind the scenes", attempting to branch out, to do bigger and better things that we can hopefully share with the public airsoft community in the near future. Consider this OP a "test phase" for future skirmishes!
We encourage local teams to get in contact with us to set up games on our regular Sunday dates. Feel free to contact us on airSOCOM, or on our forum on our teams website:

Mission Briefing
Operation “Saving Graceland”
Situation:
Latest Intel reports five (5) friendly highly classified UAV Drone spy planes have been intercepted and shot down by enemy SAMs. We believe one of our UAVs have photographed valuable intelligence such as SAM sights and radar towers, before crashing in the hills of a province know as Graceland. An F22 Raptor was deployed to seek and destroy enemy radar and SAM sights, but lost radar contact and is believed to have suffered mechanical failure. We believe the pilot and co-pilot have ejected and may be severely wounded and need to be extracted. We have also received intel that one of our POW’s will be executed at 12:00.
Mission:
Be advised that surrendering the UAV drones that carry highly classified technology to local forces would be detrimental to our nation’s security. You are an elite force put together to carry out several highly classified clandestine objectives. This operation requires minimal contact with enemy forces. Concentrate on the objectives and only engage if you are compromised. When you come across an objective destroy it by placing your teams marker in the designated area. Document the objectives location on the map provided, and move onto the next objective. If you locate an enemy CP, photograph and log the location on grid map. Rescue Capt. Presley and co-pilot Colonel Parker, before enemy troops can locate and capture them. Return Capt. Presley and Colonel Parker to your CP and extract them to Base Camp at 19:00. There is also a POW that is scheduled to be executed at 12:00. Assassinate the executioner before the POW is executed.
Objectives:
1) Insert covertly and set up a CP within designated boundaries. (See Intel Map)
2) Locate UAV with spy cam and secure camera. Camera is to be brought back to Base Camp at the end of the day for debriefing. Photograph crash site with team camera. Destroy UAV with onsite markers. Log crash site location on grid map.
3) Locate and rescue Capt. Presley (call-sign) “Elvis”. Log crash site on map and extract to your CP.
4) Locate and rescue co-pilot Colonel Parker. Log crash site on map and extract to your CP.
5) Seek and destroy all five (5) downed UAVs using onsite demolition markers. Log all locations on grid map and photograph.
6) Locate, photograph and destroy all five (5) SAM sights. Log each site on grid map.
7) Locate, photograph and destroy all five (5) Radar sights. Log each site on grid map.
8) Locate all enemies CPs. Photograph and log each CP on map. (Note: Extra points for infiltrating camp)
9) Assassinate the executioner.
INTELLIGENCE
Enemy:
Enemy elements to be expected as squad sized forces. Enemy reaction forces are minutes away. These forces are considered hostile. They are believed to be well armed with small arms and high explosives. Intelligence has identified this sector as a hotbed for hostile activity and the likely source of recent attacks.

None
Rules of Engagement:
Consider all troops as hostile. Engage as necessary but objectives are a priority.
Terrain:
Densely woodland area surrounded by farmland. Black Rock creek runs north to south in the center of grid sector. Many high speed foot paths are located throughout the sector.
