The #1 Online Comunity for Airsoft Teams

Myself and my fellow officers have brought up charity work in the airsoft community.

Airsoft is a sport designed around teams and people, people who have all kinds of different beliefs, goals, passions, and various other opinions. In a world so full of diversity and individuality, there are so many things to be passionate about.

Among my team, there's been so much talk about the economy and how, in this day, it's all about 'people helping people' and making your own difference in a world approaching 7 billion. My big question is... what is the airsoft community passionate about? Cancer? Heart Disease? HIV? The Environment? Wildlife Conservation? Child Hunger? Domestic Violence? Polution? Recycling? Anything?

Our team has brought up Charity Walks and Runs for a cause where the airsoft community can get together and get the airsoft name out there in a big way- a way where were making a difference and not just running around with toy guns (in their eyes).

There are so many benefits to charity work that go just beyond helping out.

First, and first of all...
-It's for a cause that is very much important to the people involved and should be important to you.

Second...
-There are so many fundraising, business, and marketing oportunities. Oportunities like raising a banner with your teams name on it.

Third...
-Charity work tends to get a ton of news coverage... which in turn gets your name out there even more.

Fourth...
-How great does this make your team look to your community and to the world? How many opinions and stereotypes have been spread about airsoft that shed a bad light on the sport? This is the chance to prove em' wrong and to really give airsoft a good name.

In my opinion, airsoft owes the environment we play in quite a bit of respect and, well, support. Many of us play in woodland environments full of lush foliage and wildlife. There's obviously a reason many use biodegradeable bbs, so maybe it's time to take it a bit farther. This is only one opinion though and it'd be great to hear others.

My team and I are interested in getting teams together in our area (PA, MD, WV, etc), making a huge group and doing one of these events as an airsoft community. If anyones interested, please contact me on here, so we can get organized. I'd really like to hear from the passionate people in the airsoft community (that I know are there).

Please share your ideas. Can't wait to hear them,

Oct 11. of every year is whats called a "Zombie Walk" where participates show up as Zombies and they walk, to participate it costs 1 Non perishable food item to be donated to a local food bank.

This Oct my team will be putting on a "Zombie Shoot". Shotgun and Pistol Only Zombie game, to participate each member will need to present at least 2 No Perishable food items (Canned Food) that will be donated to the local food banks.

This is a good way to incorporate Airsoft and a community service. Alot of Airsoft Games also donate much of their funding to a certain group or player. We had one game where funds where donated to a player who's little girl was under going Cancer treatments.

Just some thoughts. Helping the world is great, but sometimes helping your neighbor is greater still.

Seeing as airsoft is basically a mil-sim sport, another idea for a charity or fundraiser could be pointed towards wounded Veterans or Familys of military personel who have been KIA. Just a thought.

I was thinking about something to Support The Troops. Like getting a bunch of the 'little things' together and sending a package. I asked my father about the things he missed most while he was deployed (aside from his family) and he said the 'little things' like decks of cards and other simple items.

I've thought about the Veteran thing too. I'm just ready for airsoft to do some good in the community and I want it to be more than just my team, so if anyones interested, we can get together and pick a charity that we alll are passionate about and are willing to support whole-heartedly.

Great idea, Cougar! We at KCAC have just begun to use the sport for charity. I never thought about our environment, however. We are doing events for Wounded Warrior Project and Operation Home Front, currently. But you've just given me a great idea for future projects, thanks.

this is a great idea. We should be involved in the community because we are a part of it. At the very least you are improving the life of someone else by your actions. I think thats worth it right there. Times are tough I understand this, but donating a can of food or spending a couple hours of your time can make a difference. Think about it, there a roughly 1,500 members on this site alone. If each one of us gives a can of food thats 1,500 people who have dinner for a night. An individual may not be able to do much, but it adds up

I love charity events , it's a good feeling knowing you are helping out someone who would not get the care he needs or training , I do most of my charity for the Wounded Warrior Project

The Legion Of Anubis, a team that was based out of Utah, tried charity work. The sad thing was when it was posted on team news on some of the local airsoft boards and chat rooms, the team dropped an account on one of the big board due to the team getting a large amount of insults and ridicule, and on another site, the team was just down graded with rude and snide comments.
Generally speaking, airsoft in Utah and charity work do not go hand in hand.
