NorCal MILSIM is a site created to promote military simulation in the region including the San Francisco Bay Area, the Sacramento Valley, and Sonoma / Napa. We felt that scenario-based, organized operatons with realistic elements weren't frequent enough, so we decided to 'run a mini-Lion's Claw' every month'. Our home AO is called LZ-5, and it's in Fairfield, CA.
However, what we do is closer to a final mission for the RECONDO school than LC. We welcome everyone who follows the rules. Often, participants newer to 'airsoft' blend in better than those who have been rushing into enemy fire without any support for a few years.
People who enjoy our operation have fun lying in a concealed position, calling in a SALUTE report to someone who is listening, writing it down, developing a FRAGO and giving directions to a mobile squad.
The Special Warfare Applications Research Group is based out of the LZ-5 AO. We are the bulk of the volunteer admins at the events. We train at least once a month (in addition to any event we attend), and have been fortunate enough to have the attention of veterans who give us guidance.
SPEAR Group consists of 8 people, with consistent presence of at least 6. The requirements for joining our group are posted on our forum in the public area - but basically it's for those able and willing to commit the time and resources to performing as a contributor to our group.
