M4 Dust Covers

Do any of you guys that own M4s with working dust covers know if u should keep those open while battling or not? I've heard some people who tell me to keep it open... i think it can ruin ur hop-up.

Permalink Reply by wade on April 1, 2009 at 7:31am: its problably more or less for show.the reason why they say keep it open...but i wouldnt.they call it a dust cover for a reason ya know.especially seeing is how the mock bolt is extremely flimsy(on my s system) and got bent to where it rubbed on the hop up unit.so i had to remove it.so i feel impowered to keep the dust cover closed.dirt on your bucking is just a pain in the azz!; ▶ Reply to This

I think the biggest pain is the chance of your hop up going out of adjustment by having something get in there and screwing it up.; ▶ Reply to This
