The #1 Online Comunity for Airsoft Teams

There you are, dug in your position, watching an enemy patrol walking cluelessly into your well-planned ambush. You sit in wait, until the very second you can see the whites of their eyes...you take a breath, and unleash a barrage of little white BBs up and down his torso. You hear them hit his clothes and gear, *THWAP THWAP THWAP*, that all-too-familiar sound of plastic impacting your target.

He takes a dive, and you take your attention to the next target, until *POW*...the same guy you just shot out turns around and shoots you in the forehead.

What happened, you ask? It sounds like you've encountered a cheater. One of the worst players the the game of Airsoft can offer.

Now, its all happened to us at least once. You sling a burst out of your AEG right in someones direction, and you just -know- you hit him. Sometimes you may have, sometimes maybe not, but you may never know unless the player you just shot at is an honest one or not.

Yes, sometimes you may not feel BBs impact...it happens...but there are people out there who knowingly and willingly cheat at the sport, just to make themselves look better.

I ask any potential cheater reading this, why do you do it? You know you've been hit, so why dont you call it? Are you embarassed? Do you think theres no way he/she could have hit you at that distance? Do you think that it makes you look like a better player, and in turn, more feared on the field? You may be able to get away with it a few times, but eventually, it will catch up to you. You know deep down that you got hit...so no matter what, you didnt really win that match. Even if you get hit, then you go and take out 10 players on the other team, you still didnt TRUELY win. Maybe, instead of cheating, you put that red rag on your head, walk off the field, self-evaluate and learn from your lesson. Cheating doesnt take skill, and quite frankly, its sad that someone would have to do it to make themselves look like a better player.

At our field, SOG has a "no tolerance" policy on cheating. You get caught once, you get a warning. You get caught again, you're never coming back. We go out there to have a good time, make friends, bring new people to the sport, and have fun. Just 1 cheater can ruin the experience for more than 1 player, and might deter newer players from pursuing airsoft as an active hobby they'd like to take up. I know my team will call themselves out, even if they think the shot was questionable. Its not real life, so there will always be another game to better yourself afterwards!

One of the top reasons some people refuse to even TRY airsoft is the fact that its extremely easy to cheat at it. But if you have honest players with good attitudes, people have a great experience, and they'll want to come back. That, in turn, puts the sport in a better light, and that means bigger games.

We want our sport to GROW, not deteriorate from the inside out. So I urge everyone to play honest, play fair, and get new people interested in our beloved hobby. Show them a good time, show them what our sport is really all about: Teamwork, Fun, and INTEGRITY.

What I dislike the most... is going to large OPs and Events, and the "supposed professional MilSim operators" , whom should and DO know better...

Shrug hits, and don't call it.

you would think, "cheating" would be confined to a select few that happen to stumble into something small or you have "locally" going on.  Big events, and Operations... should offer a higher caliber of participant in my mind's eye.

However, I've found the reverse to be the more "honest" of venues.

3 large Events, I;ve been to here in the Mid South/Mid West ... cheaters were rampant on all "factions" present.

I watched guys on my own faction, not a part of our squads or team... act just as dishonest, as the dishonest guys shooting at them back.  It was sad, and sick.

A team mate of mine, and I ... shot a jeep full of Operatives, trying to cut him and I off our flanking by a road.  I had a DMR, and both he and I could see the BBs I shot, bounce off the jeep crew.

Instead, of being fair... they "ignored" it, and some bailed to drop out on our side of the road, and engage us.  We called our hits, even though they didn't.  It sucked though a tad bit, acting in honor, so a few guys could have a cheap and undeserved "victory" over two guys, acting as scouts.

Quite a few " acting jar heads" at this same event, were simply too proud to admit, they sucked , and got bested and out-ranged by a Team they had never encountered before.

I don't think , myself... that honor should be limited to just calling hits though.

There are many aspects, to honor in my eyes:

1- when you do call your hit, follow the proper respawn/medic/bleed-out times.  Too many times, I've watched those hit, pull a rag, wait about 5 seconds, and then go for re-spawn, when they have a Bleed-out time of 5 minutes or more.

2- Always follow all rules, regulations, and safety standards.

It flat out ticks me off, when the RULES state... Non-sealing eyepro is NOT allowed,  and then you see a crap load of guys, using non-sealing eyepro during the event.

I HATE it when folks ignore the Minimum Engagement Distance, especially when using full auto.

3- I also think, it' s a form of "cheating" to ignore missions, and objectives ( commands ) ... just to go get your shoot on, and see how many "kills" you can wrack up.

4- i dislike any protest and arguments about ESTABLISHED rules , and "ignoring" rules of Engagements.

I've met many a Operator, that gripe, complain, and moan about "safety-kills", and how "stupid" that is. Most of these types, simply will not honor, the curteousy, you just extended them.

I knifed killed 2 operatives, in a MOUT facility building, not even 4 months ago. I tapped them both, I said " Knife kill, Knife Kill"  as I walked passed them.  they both turned and shot me right after it.  One of the jerks, plugged half his mag in my chest at point blank range from his side-arm.  Then the two, wanted to "argue" with me , that They had me dead to rights!!!!

Seriously???

I myself, am not only a team Operator, but I'm also an admin , and Event producer as well.  I have as well, developed a "zero tolerance" policy.

I've just seen, and witnessed to much crap in this hobby, not to.

Not only do I bann, or eject from my stuff... but I post your infractions publicly, with all the information I can dig up on ya, even share photos if I got em, and send that info out to other teams, event producers, and associations, established in our hobby.

Blatant cheaters, deserve to be embarrassed in my opinion.

Do the crime, you do the time. Simple, and effective.
