The #1 Online Comunity for Airsoft Teams

Alright, I've been trying to decide which gun I wanted to buy for my Primary Weapon and I've finally decided on a G3. I've been looking into this for about a month now and I've looked at about 5 guns.

The guns I've looked at are:

New Version Matrix JG G3 SG1 T3-K1 which has:
$140
380-410 FPS
M.E.R: 120 Ft.
Length: 1036mm
Height: 208mm
Weight: 3900g
Includes: Battery, Charger, Cleaning/Un-jamming Rod, Sniper CheekPad, and Bipod.
I've pretty much decided against this one completely thanks to a team members' opinion.

Echo 1 G3 DSR
$150
340 FPS
M.E.R.: 120 Ft.
Features: Adjustable Rear Sight, Adjustable Hop-Up, Full Stock, Cheek Rest (Not installed), Handguard with Built-in Bipod, and Counter-Clockwise Threaded Outer Barrel (14mm)
Includes: Hi-Cap Mag, Battery, Charger, Cleaning Rod.

JG T3K3 G3 RAS
$140
400 FPS
M.E.R.: 120 Ft.
Weight: 12Lb.
Features: Integrated Rail Adaptor System, Adjustable Hop-Up, Vertical Foregrip, 8.4v 1500mAH Large Type Battery and Charger.
Includes: Hi-Cap Magazing, Battery, Charger, Foregrip, and RAS.

Tokyo Marui G3 SG1
$260
280 FPS
M.E.R.: ?
Length: 1036mm
Height: 208mm
Weight: 3900g
Includes: Mag, Speed Loader, Cleaning Rod, Original Box, 2000 .20g BB, Battery and Charger.
IF YOU RECOMMEND THIS ONE, CAN YOU PLEASE TELL ME WHAT UPGRADES WOULD NEED TO BE DONE AND ABOUT HOW MUCH THEY WOULD COST ME IN TOTAL. ALSO, AFTER THESE UPGRADES ARE DONE, HOW MUCH MORE MAINTENANCE WILL NEED TO BE DONE AND HOW FREQUENTLY. I'm asking because, I don't want to buy a gun because it's in my price range and end up getting a crap product that'll break in a week. If I have to save up and get a more expensive gun that'll last a long, long time and won't need to be replaced, I'd rather do that.

Classic Army G3 SG1 SAR
$270
280FPS
ROF: 20 per second.
M.E.R.: 120Ft.
Weight: 3250g
Features: High Performance Motor, New Design Hop Up System, Quick Disassembly Metal Body, Bipod, Movable Cocking Lever and Bolt Cover, and Modified Pins on the Hand Grip and the Stock.
Includes: Hi-Cap Mag, 8.4V Large Type Battery, Charger, Sniper Cheek Pad, and attached bi-pod.
AGAIN WHAT UPGRADES WOULD NEED DONE AND HOW MUCH WILL THEY COST?

ANY OPINIONS WOULD BE GREAT! Please!
I really need help, considering I'm a pretty new airsoft player and don't know much about branding... All I know is, I need a gun of my own and the sooner I can get it, the better.

Thanks,
SGT. Cougar

we have 2 of the echo 1 DSRs they are very accurate they need to use .25 at all times they dont shoot .20 at all they also shoot more than 350fps both of oures chroned at 385fps they hit hard put out a good bb pattern, accurate this is the best gun of all the ones you have posted and if you like long guns this is the one if you get this weapon the one thing you will wont to do is take off the bipod. great gun

all the other g3 are to much money to only shoot 280 out the box echo 1 is a good brand

Thanks a lot. But, if we're going based on FPS, what about JG T3K3? Do you know anything about it? That is the one my team leader recommended to me.

You're the second to recommend the Echo1 to me though, so I'm definately looking at it. I just wish it came with a Rail System (which the T3K3 does) considering the fact that I am a spotter and it would be nice to have a scope. Any other information you know would be great.

i have heard bad things about that jg brang but other than that it might be good im just giving advice on the weapon i have

Thanks a lot. I really appreciate your recommendation. I'm really looking at the Echo1 and the T3K3. They're both in the same price range and shoot at similar rates. What is the rate of fire on the Echo1, if you know?

Right now, I'm just trying to determine, out of the two, which is more worth my money.

I'd go with either the JG or the Echo1, Echo1 is a USA company and offers a great warranty policy.

Both are shooting in great FPS ranges, Both are compatible or should be close to compatible with TM and CA parts. And a little secret in most cases, Echo1 is just a JG re-branded with the Echo1 Label.

Most Echo1/JG builds are very good.

With this type of weapon system I'd look at accuracy over Rate of Fire. its more of Designated Marksman rifle then anything.

Yeah, I understand that it's more Marksman type, but I'm just curious because in some reviews I've read, it says that the Matrix, JG, and Echo1 all eat BBs. I wanna know what I'm getting into.

One of my team members has a SAW and it's rate of fire is insane... Like 30-35 per second. And the Classic Army shoots likes 20 per second. I'm not really interested in a high rate of fire, because it's a G3. It's not a suppressive weapon or atleast that's not what I'm using it for. I am just a bit curious about the rate of fire, so I know how to deal with the guns bb habit. Haha.

Personally I would get a JG or Echo1. The Echo1 G3s are built by JG, but also include a 30 day warranty . CAs have metal bodies and internals are ready for a 400FPS spring. IMO TMs are overpriced and need metal bushings, new gears, and piston for a 400FPS spring.

With any gun I would install an H-nub, bucking, and tightbore (unless it comes standard).

I think we talked about this prior, but I did not know you were considering the other brands.

For what you need it for, and since you don't need a high ROF , get the JG (because, like you said you can put a vertical fore grip on it).

Echo 1 is most likely equal to the JG except without the rails.(if the JG is not a 2009 model, then the JG will probably be better).

The Tokyo Marui will be the most costly, but you will get the most out of it, and will only need one thing. That is metal bushings and an m120 spring (I recommend Systema) It would only cost about $20 all together. TM gears are fine, and the piston is great also. You would have to do absolutely zero maintenance on the gun after the spring and bushings are installed. But, the Marui will have a higher ROF than any of the other brands, so this probably isn't for you.

Don't go with the CA, you will get the same performance out of a E1 or JG.

Yeah, I'm trying to keep my options open. I really don't want to spend the money on a gun that might break pretty easily, so I'm looking at all of them. I've pretty much crossed out the Matrix and the Classic Army. If I decide on the Marui, I won't be able to afford it right away. Unfortunately, Medical School isn't cheap. I mean, $36,000 a semester and then gas prices on top of that. The only reason that I'm even getting a gun is because my birthday is coming up in February and I'll have extra cash floating around. I guess the final decission will come when I find out what my budget will be. It's hard though, because I'm in need of a tactical vest too (UNFORTUNATELY! I can't find one that's small enough for me except the Special Forces one and even thats a little big...). The spare mags for my gun are $30-$45 dollars. Plus a speed loader and a decent pair of safety glasses or goggles (the ones I have now are all scratched up). Ugh... That's like at least another $110 dollars on top of the gun. So, it's either I buy just a gun and NOTHING else. Or I get the JG or E1 and get everything else too. Ugh... I hate making decisions.
