Echo 1 is good, JGs pretty good, Classic Army internals are junk, Tokyo Maruis can be ok but are usually overpriced pieces of trash, Both Elephant sucks, and crossmans suck(except for the C11). Tose are the only brands I have experience with. If you're going to get a good gun thats fairly inexpensive suggest a JG or Echo 1.

How the f*ck did you break a JG, run it over with a car? Seriously someone (*cough* Rampage *cough*) fell 10+ feet onto my gun and all that happened was a small nick in the mag-well. And I'm not much more careful with my guns than he was (i dry fire A LOT, leave my spring cocked back, drop them, fire in excessively long bursts, melee crap with them, swing the barrel into walls, throw them in dirt) and the only maintenance i do is occasionally clean the inner barrel and lube the hop-up.

Jing Gongs are the AK-47s of air soft in my opinion, cheap, crappy looking, and inaccurate (by which i mean an occasional fly-away) but they're tough as shit and will almost never let you down in battle (except once when i had an oval BB which is NOT the guns fault)

Now I'm not saying Tokyo Maruis suck because they don't. my only complaint is the low stock FPS which i could personally care less about, and that they shouldn't be so pricey because they are plastic bodied like Jing Gongs. Classic Armys don't have crappy internals its just that they break a little easier than most guns. i don't care about the price of the Classic Armys though because they are full metal and have real trademarks.

Yeah, I agree with KAG. If you can fall 10+ feet out of a freaking tree onto the gun without excessive or serious damage, then that's a great gun. And again, I'm sorry about that KAG.lol

I'm about to buy the JG M16A4. The gun's design should naturally make it a bit more accurate than the M4 or MP5 models (due to the length of the gun's barrel). I'd like to change out some of the internals as soon as I can, including an M110 or M120 spring and a tight bore barrel. Will this be enough to even the odds? Should I spend the same amount on a G&G or similar model? I kinda like the fact that I can customize the JG's performance rather than relying on another stock weapon. Thoughts???

TM's MP5s are great though. but i would get a JG since they started making better stuff with their 2009 guns. as good as echo one now(who is a re-brander of JG)

It really depends on what your price range and what your preferences are. I have had nothing but good experience with Echo 1. I haven't owned any Classic Army but a local airsoft field rents out Echo 1s and CA. They love their E1s but they bought a big shipment of CAs and had to replace all the gearboxes because they sucked, jammed, and broke.

Everyone has their favorite, this post could go on forever.
Personally, I like my CA AUG, JG M4 S-System, JG BAR10, and Cyma Glock 18.
The new guns coming from China - JG, A&K, Cyma, etc. - are getting to be as well built or better than the name brands. Just do a little research before you buy a gun.

People don't usually like hearing this but it is the truth: Echo 1 guns are re-branded JG guns. You can go to the E1 website if you would like, and it has it right there. All Echo 1 does is take a JG, put a new spring in it, and occasionally a metal body.

As for the best assault rifle, try the Tokyo Marui AK-47. It is solid, has great external and internal parts (Version 3 GB), and has an awesome ROF and accuracy. And if you want more fps, just buy a spring for $10 and you can have any velocity you want. Personally my main is now a Marui SR-16, but the AK-47 is the best all around airsoft gun I have ever seen in my entire life.

Yes the Echo 1s are made in the same factory as the JGs. I have a JG M4 and its a great starter gun. They come with metal gear boxes and mine was pre upgraded with a 120 spring with metal bushings. The gun was actually shooting to hot, so it now has a 110 in it.

My philosophy is, every airsoft gun is going to need work to fit your style of play. If you are a DMR then you will need a good spring, tightbore, etc. If you are a support gunner, then you will need gears and a motor. Everything and every gun can break. I just decided to put down less money upfront for a clone when I new I was going to upgrade it anyway. Its your personal preference to decide what is your best and it may not be another persons best.

Everyone knows Echo 1 doesn't make their guns, but its not just JG. JG makes their M series G36, AUG, G3. Kart makes their m-14. A&K makes the SAW. I don't know why people wouldn't like to hear this, its common knowledge. I would say they are the reason the Chinese companies make better guns now.

If you just throw a m120 spring into a Marui gearbox, have fun replacing everything. Marui internals are designed for 1J or ~320 FPS since that is the law in Japan.
