The #1 Online Comunity for Airsoft Teams

I've seen alot of airsoft videos, and I've been wanting to start filming our games... But I have a few questions...

Do people filming need to wear something to show they are filming? Do you usually have them wearing something bright to show that they are not in the game?

Are they in the action? Do they film with the squads and run along side of them?

Do any of you use "gun cams" or "action cams" and if so, where did you get them?

Any answers you have would be very helpful to me. Anything you have would be helpful. Thanks

hey I'm not an expert in airsoft but I would say the best thing to do is for the camera guy to wear bright clothes so everyone knows he's out of the game and so people don't accidentally shoot him
Hey,Dan Are camera person wears pink camo when she's out with us.She chose pink but anything to stand out,you should also respect the other team and ask their permission as it can give away positions at times. We use the videos the same way a football team would as far as reviews go.I thought about gun cams also but I rethought cause it's expensive to replace a video lens,as are support wepons seem to take alot of fire and thats the only place the camera would stay still enough.Hope this helps Lt.Firedog
our camera person just walks around shooting pics and video. Our last one was scared of being shot or too shy to get very much footage with either video or still shots. we usually have them in safety orange.
I do the video/pix for Team P.A.C. and I dont run along side the people I am filming or taking pictures of. I move as the action moves but carefully and not right next to people, thats what the zoom in feature is for. Mostly because I dont want to give away their position. I am in "the action" and have been hit a few times as well, but it doesnt hurt that bad and I get very good video being that close. I also take video of the opposing team if they will allow me to, also very careful not to give away any positions (especially the opposing team). Video at night is nearly impossible as I have learned, I can still take video but at night the camera acts like a spotlight on the team even with "night vision" the camera itself is bright and any light it gives off is very easy to pick out at night, so that didnt seem to work, unless of course we wanted to loose. I missed getting our whole "Howl at the Moon" event because of this. . So night video so far is no good, unless someone else has any idea's on that...?

As Firedog said it is a great training tool. Sometimes the pictures and video are a learning experience for us all. And I love my screaming pink camo. lol.

P.S. I'm getting so close to the action that I wanna turn in my pink camo for regular camo and shoot something!!! This airsoft thing is very addicting and fun!!!
This and Firedog's is the most helpful to me. I found a camera that would mount to my gun, and as per my camera, I'm wanting to play around with making a plexy-glass case to where it wouldn't get hit. The thoughts of actually being able to film our games would be great. I can understand wanting to get into the action after following it for so long. Thanks
