The #1 Online Comunity for Airsoft Teams

Does anyone know of any laws in Kansas City against airsoft guns. I usually dont have any problems, but lately a woman saw my team and i walking to our practice field that we have asked the owner to use. She stopped us, and said that it was against the law and could kill someone. I know that it cant kill anyone very easily. She may have belived that those were pellet guns. Our local high school was having homecoming that week and there was a helicopter covering the game. she said it was looking for us because they looked like real assualt weapons.

She said she would call the cops and i have been stopped by the police before and they basically said to play safe.

My question is: Are there any laws in Kansas City against Airsoft guns?

I in no way brandish the guns in public. I do not shoot in public or at anyone other than those playing. I always keep my guns cased until we arrive at the feild.

What did i do wrong? Or is she just way to nosy? In my opinion, people need to keep their heads in their own buisiness.

I cant speak for kansas laws, but I do know this when it comes to weapons of any sort it takes a little common sense.
You dont brandish in public view, you keep it cased or covered to & from the field.and as far as being nosy she is doing her duty or what she feels is right. We all as airsofters need to comply with all local laws and do everything in are power to change the public view.Treat people with the same respect you should have for your weapon.Dont make it harder to play airsoft in your town

Dude, just cover it until you're at the field. Don't bring it out just yet...people are stupid and have no idea what is going on.

Thou shalt not fire within city limits. A general rule of thumb. Unless you are on a sanctioned field or underground, like in a large basement or warehouse you are permitted to use.

One cop in my town my family knows has been very helpful in finding good locations to game. But I will wait until hunting season ends, I don't want a broadhead in my ass from someone thinking I am a deer.

Quit trying to play innocent here, Take a look at some of Skyler's pictures and explain to me exactly how the hell that is not brandishing in public???

If she could physically see an airsoft weapon, YOU are wrong.

I understand where you are coming from here. The guns were just out for maybe 5 minutes to take a picture, We have sincegrown out of this phase and no longer "brandish" our weapons in public. We try to advance the respect of the sport as far as possible. I appologize for "playing innocent" and trust me it will never happen again. In fact, as soon as you reply to this, i will delete this disscussion. Sorry again.
