The #1 Online Comunity for Airsoft Teams

Hi everyone.
I'm recently getting a new gun and I really need some help on deciding what gun to get. If anyone knows of any great guns out there on the market that would be great. I've been checking quite a bit of different sites (including airSOCOM) and I can't figure out what to get. I was thinking of getting the UTG Shadow Ops Airsoft Sniper but now I'm having doubts about getting a sniper at all. Any help I can get would be awesome. Thanks ahead of time.
Also what does mAH stand for?

Well, this is a can of worms really...

Some stuff you have to ask yourself is...

How much money do I have to spend...?
What role do you want in your skirms..?

A sniper is a great thing for some, but its not for everyone... I am way to impatient to snipe... GOOD snipers are really good... Its like one of those things that everyone thinks they do best, but really dont...

The best thing we can pass, is to do your homework... Research research... Decide on a brand or style and look for revews, comments, etc... You can even find 99.9% of the guns out there on youtube, with probably a crappy review, but at least youll see the gun relative to someones hand, size etc, and you get to check out the ROF, ( rate of fire ), FPS, and the overall look of the weapon...

I personally would stay away from UTG, if you plan to hit airsoft hard... You'll find out very quikly when out at a field, that yes, skills make kills, but having an inadeqaute weapon will get you slaughtered... Especially when you are playin with guys that know what their doin...

Small budget..? Stick to Echo1 and JG...

Med...? Get the higher end Echos, and dip into the Classic Armys' for that real steel look...

At the end its all up to you Cody, unfortunatly for some, airsoft is a 80% show and 20% go type of game...
In our experience, alot of teams look the part, but lack basic skills, or communication, and end up losing all their skirms due to the fact they spent more time on what they look like playing, instead of playing...

Hope this helped alittle, but welcome to the site bud, there are lots of users here with similar experiences, and Im sure based of what people respond and post, youll be able to decide on a weapon... Plus... I guarantee that it wont be your last rifle... Once you start buyin em, you usually cant stop... Plus, sidearms, vests, headgear, rigs, uniforms etc... It never ends.. But thats part of the game... Gotta evolve...

Thanks for the help Gunz. I've been looking through a lot of guns and I am going to get the JG G36C Electric Airsoft AEG Gun Echo 1.

the G36 is a great gun, im partial though i own one. lol. Good rate of fire, easily externally upgradable, check out the pics here: http://team.airsocom.com/forum/topic/show?id=1733414%3ATopic%3A14763 and see what one looks like with a bunch of bolt on accessories on it to see what i mean. I also have a thread on here about what to consider when your just starting in airsoft. It can be found here: http://team.airsocom.com/forum/topic/show?id=1733414%3ATopic%3A12189

Just saw your reply to the uber noober topic. Mine is a JG (basically considered the sister company to Echo1). Great all around gun, good range when outdoors, and with the folding stock great for cqb as well. It has a fair weight, regadless every one ive ever seen including the Classic Army they are made from composite. The gun is durable, mine has been abused and played with hard by several players at their first game, i have yet to experience a serious problem with it. The gun (even JG/Echo1 has metal bushings, and a version 3 gearbox is standard. The fps on the gun on mine varies slightly depending on the environment i play in (i change bb weights based on playing locations). I average about 340-360 on .2's. Anymore questions feel free to ask.

Thanks so much. I saw the pictures and I was wondering if you would recomend that scope you had on yours?

Reply to This

the scope is great, but not really made for that gun. the scope and bipod are off my m14, a smaller scope is best for the g36

Thanks bigrik!
Now I that I've figured out what gun I'm going to get (G36C) I am looking for a good sidearm. And I was wondering if the Idaho tournament in June will accept gas pistols or not.

Reply to This

i cant speak for the guys in Idaho directly, but most fields allow gas guns as long as they meet the approved fps specs.
