The #1 Online Comunity for Airsoft Teams

I wonder if airsoft is played in other countries. I know it's no way as popular overseas as it is in the states (maybe except for canada lol). I wonder if the rules change based on region?
It would be cool if sort of an international-type tournament could be held...

Just a thought

I Agree, lets get this league done. Would you want to do it by regions, like East,West,South, and Midwest? Or did you guys want to tag a couple of teams together?
I'm In Fayetteville.. (home of the airborne lol),.

Do you guys think that there should be a number limit on how many people a team can have.
( I have 300 hopefuls,). I think a good limit could be like 398-400.

Pfff, more is better.

We're a guerrilla group, we're USED to being outnumbered. LOL

But yeah, dividing by state or sections is a good idea.

LOL!!!! Why put limits on a group size? Afraid of them stealing your oxygen? HA HA HA HA HA!

And we gotta get this rank issue down guys....My guys are demanding why they shouldnt be allowed to wear bars. (crybabies LOL)

Yes, the rank thing is really getting irritating for all sides involved.

Separate rank types for regular and irregular forces should be allowed for more variety. We need to start a section for tangoes.

It's just not that fun when both sides look the same. Red-alliance.net is devoted to Eastern Bloc and OpFor airsoft groups.

I just made a renegade group, and I think we're the only one with a post-nuclear theme so far, therefore making us a unique entity in the airsoft world.

Without sounding like the burden on everyones back, rank is the last of the concerns relating to organizing the country. Rank isnt neccessary, check into the major milsims see how they structure things. Me and my team have actually been organizing a blanket organization encompassing multiple teams, for play at large events. Think of it like a battalion and each team would be the companies in that batallion. Divisions can be created instead of ranks, and teams like snipers, riflemen, etc. can be used. No need to cause hostility over ranking when it can easliy substituted with something else. If ranks were established how would you decide who gets what rank? Age? Experience? Knowledge? My thoughts are that is asking for problems, veteran player doesnt always mean skillful, as new player doesnt always mean stupid.

Regardless there is a lot to do if considering a task such as this. FIrst would be what you want out of it. National tournaments sound good but what type of tourney could you have? Look at paintball, woodsball and speedball both have national tournements, but you should research the woodsball end of it to see how its structured. Speedsoft doesnt sound that fun to me. If your looking into organizing a country wide miltary or tactical simulation these already exist. We need to approach this smart and determine first and foremost what we as well as the rest of the players would want in a tournament.

heres what i think, all groups should be able to choose how their rank operates. Also, dealing with rank, i think all teams should have the same number of rank, but it will be up to the teams on what comes with such postions
HOWEVER, i think we should have a executive board for the league, also to ensure that fairplay is going on, and to make sure that rank is given fairly.

For my battlegroup, i give promotions based on how many matches one has played, as well as on how well they have done in practices and such.
Thats just my group however..

reason being on the same number of rank, is that so each rank will have an equivelant :)

1) We had an international student on our team last semester and I'll be playing on his team when I study in Italy next fall. In Italy airsoft is pretty big with games typically lasting days. I'm members on several Italian airsoft forums so I have lots of info regarding airsoft in Europe.
2) There was (and still is) talk amongst the college teams about organizing a national college league and it's pretty difficult. Especially with airsoft because rules change state by state and game by game. It's also hard organizing anything on a nationals scale via a forum or email.

It's probably pretty difficult because the schools dont wanna give the teams the money to begin it...

That's why I think we could come up with a list of rules for a league. We can get maybe one or two representatives for each state that is interested in beginning the organization...
It could be done...

It's not about the money- some school teams get thousands of dollars to travel across the country and play. The school teams probably have the monetary and organizational advantage. I think it would be harder for a national league than a collegiate one.

It's about consistency in rules and the communication difficulties when trying to organize something on such a large scale. Everything moves really really really slow when you're trying to form a league over email and internet forums between more than 3 people. Also, there were a lot of unforeseen bumps in the road when talking about the rules. For example- how big does the team have to be to play in the league? Rules vary by state and no one is willing to change the way it has been done in that state for years. And lots more.

But by all means go for it- I just don't think it will get done. And some states don't have statewide organizations. Like Illinois for example who's org disbanded a few years ago. And Wisconsin is iffy with an org that only covers half the state for the most part and isn't really well received.
