I wonder if airsoft is played in other countries. I know it's no way as popular overseas as it is in the states (maybe except for canada lol). I wonder if the rules change based on region?
It would be cool if sort of an international-type tournament could be held...
Here is a link to that guy from Portugal. He hasn't been very active lately, but you might want to hit him up to see what is going on over in Europe as far as airsoft goes.
I agree SSG Crawford. Redwolf airsoft has become pretty big...I think they're state wide in I think its Georgia or California...I cant remember which. What about Missouri, or Kansas? Each state has their own little small groups...I think we should all unite...but what about people with limited income and transportation...what if they want to do this but they cant afford the trip, where ever it's being held.
I agree, it would be nice, there are several peeps trying this, one of the most succesful is
C-AOC...
But, It wouldnt take much, the way they run TASO down here in TX is by electing reps in every general area, then dealing with a central rep in the state..
Maybe something like this would work, the only thing is...
One thing I have found is that in this game..There are too many chiefs and not enough indians...
Hmmm, a group of peeps would have to take the leadership reins, with enough say so power to do it...
I like this idea. Ive been waiting for something like this to happen but no one seems to have done it so I would love to help get the wheels rolling. I can personally account for a vast section of northern Georgia.
I know airsoft is HUGE in the Philippines. My family is from there and I got a couple cousins who play. I plan to visit there and buy lots of the Asian exclusive parts :D
There is an international game coming up soon, AI500: Blackjack. Its here in Florida, but players from the UK are coming.
Actually, it is...it was first big in Japan and then spread to other countries. Too bad people here don't have as much common sense in handling the replicas. LOL
But anyway, it is now quite popular in the Far East, and is legal in most parts of the world, more or less.
And yes, let us start a league...400 FPS with a 0.20 gram 6mm BB is usually standard, but I'm willing to go up to 500 for snipers, because they have to engage at a further distance, not to mention their bolt-action rifles would otherwise give them a disadvantage.
Of course, Minimum Engagement distances (say 25 or more feet with above 350 FPS, and 100-150 feet with sniper rifles) are required as well. And no higher than 500 with sniper rifles. I dunno.
Airsoft was born and bread in the far east, specifically in Japan. Its been going on there and in the Phillipines longer than anywhere else. The UK and Australia have had airsoft for a decade or more, but adhere to much more stringent guidelines regarding their funcitonality, appearance, and use. The US is the fledgling country, its been going on here for far less time than most other places.
Redwolf Airsoft is based in the UK, hence the high shipping costs and delays in shipping. There are no US based airsoft manufactueres that i am aware of, although its very possible a new company or not well known company does exist. There are many US based sellers and distributors who import product to the states.
Contrary to popular belief, Echo1, MadBull, and Classic Army are all made in Japan or Taiwan.
